Dear Lev,
You are 3 months, 1 week, and 2 days old. I cannot believe how fast time has flown by since you came to us. You were so little, just 8 pounds, but very long- 22 inches. Now, you weigh 15 pounds, and Pop and I estimate that you are about 25 inches long at least, but maybe longer. You take up my whole entire lap. Your feet stretch to the very edge of your baby carrier, which sent pop and I to Target to price bigger car seats, which you will need sooner rather than later. You have deep blue eyes, which are sometimes almost purple, and you also have a bald spot on the back of your head where you rub on your mattress. I love to kiss it during church.
You can do all the typical 3 month old things:
* hold your head up
* coo and giggle a little
* bring your hands together,
* You are about to roll from your back to your stomach (you like to do things backwards.)
* You track objects and people as they move around.
* You can distinguish the voices of me and Pop and Mimi and Padre.
* You can sit independantly for about 10 seconds on really good days.
* You can put weight on your legs and stand.
* You are starting try to grab things and when you do grab things, you put them in your mouth.
But pop and I love most the things that make you specifically you:
* You eat constantly despite the doctor telling me that you will eventually slow down.
* You smile at trees and birds. Infact, you just LOVE being outside and cry when we come inside.
* YOu constantly wiggle.
* When you drink your bottle, you maneuver yourself so that you are lying across my lap with your head aimed toward the window (to look at the trees) and feet dangling off the sofa.
* You sleep with your hands above your head.
* You turn yourself around at night, so that when we come to you in the morning, you have managed to turn yourself 180 Degrees around. We think this is the funniest thing.
*You only cry when you are hungry or get you arm stuck outside your crib at 1AM.
* You can scream louder than all your little friends.
* You listen quietly on my lap to the sermon at church.
And since you have learned to scream, Pop and I have had several conversations about how to help you learn that screaming is ok, but only outside and when you are in danger. So we've decided that we need to practice helping you learn. We KNOW you are only 3 months old. But soon you will be old enough to KNOW not to scream. So when you scream, we tell you that screaming is for outside, not inside. MImi and padre think we're really silly for doing this. But we need to practice, and our hope is that you learn early that screaming is outside fun, not inside fun. We know you dont get it yet, but you will. We have high hopes for you, Lev, and we pray that the Lord will use you greatly.
Love,
Mom
